CDN Meat Thermometer

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

CDN meat thermometer imageDesigned for versatility, this CDN meat thermometer and timer is a perfect meat thermometer for your oven or grill.

It has a probe with a high heat sensor cable and a lightweight base station.

The CDN WT1 offers pre-programmed and programmable meat/taste/and memory modes based on USDA safe cooking guides and comes with 2 AAA batteries.

Distinct audio/visual alerts sound when your target temperature or set time is reached.

One main complaint from some purchasers of this model is that the directions aren’t sufficient enough to explain how to use some of the features such as the memory mode. Users also suggest that including photographs in the manual would help show how the stand and belt work.

On the other hand other users of the CDN WT1 model suggest that the operating instructions from the manufacturers site are very easy to understand to anyone with even the slightest hint of cooking experience. These people suggest that users that cannot follow instructions properly should not blame the manufacturer.

The popularity with this thermometer is not clear cut; some think it’s terrible and others like it. You won’t really know what category you are in until you try it yourself. If you want to make a safer choice then we’d highly recommend the Oregon Scientific AW131.

Maverick Meat Thermometer imageThe Maverick dual probe thermometer in model et-7 is a remotecheck wireless meat thermometer and timer to monitor two separate foods at once.

It’s also great for cooking large meat that may cook more quickly at one end than the other.

The RediChek remote features a transmitter that reads the internal food termperature with a digital electronic food probe, then sends that information wirelessly up to 100 feet away, freeing you from standing next to the oven or grill during the cooking period.

When the desired temperature is reached an alarm goes off!

Two six-inch probes are each connected to a 39-inch stainless steel wire and provide separate temperature readings.

Program options let you choose beef, veal, lamb, pork, chicken, or turkey and then select rare, medium-rare, medium, or well-done.

The digital monitor then displays the corresponding temperature, which can be altered by pressing a button. To operate, simply insert the probe into the meat, run the wire from the oven and close the door. The wire plugs into the portable monitor, which tracks two cooking times.
